Rising Fame Through Iconic Roles
Actress Deeksha Sonalkar Tham, who has made her mark with notable performances in Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye, Tenali Rama, Choices, and Hasmukh, believes that reality television is rapidly taking over Indian TV screens.
The Decline of Fiction Shows
Speaking about the current state of fiction series, Deeksha explains,
“Unfortunately, our fiction shows are struggling due to a lack of engaging storylines. They often start on a grand and spectacular scale but eventually turn into love triangles or conflicts between lead characters. I won’t say every show is like this, but most of them fall into this pattern. That’s when viewers begin craving something new and refreshing — and reality TV offers exactly that.”
Her Take on Reality Television
Despite recognizing its dominance, Deeksha admits she isn’t personally drawn to reality formats.
“I never really got into watching reality TV. Maybe I could connect with a dance show, but otherwise, it’s not my cup of tea,” she laughs.
Watching for a Friend
However, there’s one reality show she won’t be skipping. Deeksha shares,
“My dear friend Aahana Kumra is part of the newly launched Rise and Fall show. For her sake, I’ll definitely be watching this one.”
