Medanta Noida Launches First-of-its-Kind ‘Aao. Dekho. Seekho.’ initiative to Empower Women with Breast Self-Examination Skills

Noida, October 29, 2025 – Medanta Hospital Noida has unveiled its ‘Aao. Dekho. Seekho.’ kiosks, where women can get a hands-on learning experience of the breast self-examination. This initiative, launched nationwide by the Medanta Cancer Institute, brings about a paradigm shift in Breast Cancer Awareness programmes, where traditionally knowledge was only transferred verbally. Through this initiative, Medanta aims to empower over 10 million women across the country.

The ‘Aao. Dekho. Seekho.’ kiosks offer a safe, stigma-free, and private environment where women can learn how to perform breast self-examination on life-size simulators under the guidance of Medanta’s trained nursing team, breaking barriers around breast health and promoting early detection of breast cancer.

The kiosks are part of a larger nationwide ‘Jaanta Hai Medanta’ movement by Medanta, to raise awareness and drive action against cancer. The expression ‘Jaanta Hai Medanta’ is not just a tag line – it represents a deep understanding of every family’s battle against cancer, is a reminder that Medanta truly understands the person behind the patient and walks beside them at every step of this difficult journey.

Each kiosk is structured into three key sections:

  • Aao: A welcoming space where women learn why self-exams matter, with simple messaging and visual aids
  • Dekho: Interactive sessions, expert-led videos, and educational material ensure that women are not just aware but empowered to practice monthly self-checks
  • Seekho: A women-only section featuring life-size breast simulators where participants, guided by Medanta’s nursing team, learn the correct technique in a private and respectful environment

Dr. Vuthaluru Seenu, Director, Endocrine & Breast Surgery at Medanta said, “Timely screening and self-examination can help detect Breast Cancer early and save lakhs of lives. The ‘Aao. Dekho. Seekho.’ initiative turns awareness into action, and will help inspire countless families to adopt the tradition of breast self-examination.”

Every minute, 4 women are diagnosed with breast cancer worldwide – and one loses her life to the disease within 5 years of diagnosis.

These figures highlight the urgent need for awareness, early detection, and proactive health practices that can save lives. By directly linking the alarming rise in breast cancer cases with a practical, community-driven solution, the kiosks turn awareness into action and help women overcome hesitation and stigma around breast health.
